Think wild après-ski, cabaret shows, and dinners where laughter echoes louder than the music.
The whole village joins in — from local shopkeepers to the tourism office — creating a rare atmosphere of genuine welcome. You can also dress to the nines if you like. Stay on the mountain and enjoy some of the best natural snow conditions in Europe, plus a great group of people to snow with.
Arosa Gay Ski Week
Europe’s favorite Ski Pride Festival returns from January 17 to 24, 2026
Not saying that you can’t bring it, but if you wear it to dinner or dancing, you will be sweating.
You can wear jeans almost anywhere in Arosa, the dress is mostly casual. Nights? The flag flies here all season long, not just for one week in January — so if you’re a skier looking for the right time to make a jaunt overseas, this might just be the moment.
Arosa Gay Ski Week is not only a celebration but also a full-on right of passage for Europe’s gay skiing community.
And with its easy train access from Zurich (no car needed, just good vibes and warm gloves), Arosa is proof that inclusion can be as effortless as fresh powder underfoot.
So as winter draws near, Brussels’ queers might start dreaming of snow-dusted pride flags and mountain sunsets. “That’s the real spirit of Arosa — community at 2,000 meters above sea level.”
For many, it’s not just a getaway but a reminder of what queer joy looks like when it’s shared and visible.
High in the Swiss Alps, where snowflakes twirl like confetti and mountain air feels almost electric, Arosa Gay Ski Week is getting ready to blow out 21 candles — and trust us, it won’t be a quiet party.
From 17 to 24 January 2026, this iconic queer winter festival returns for its 21st edition, transforming the peaceful resort of Arosa into a dazzling hub of LGBTQ+ joy, sport, and togetherness.
Welcome to 7 days of pure winter fun!
We offer the best snow conditions, many sunny days and over 900 participants make our event one of the most famous and popular LGBTQ+ ski week in Europe.
“It’s more than a party — it’s a week where everyone can live their passion for the mountains, without masks or compromises.”
And that’s exactly the magic of Arosa: it’s not just about skiing or snowboarding (though both are top-notch). It’s about community — a shared sense of belonging that stretches from the slopes to the dance floor.
Days are filled with group ski sessions led by LGBTQ+ guides, wellness escapes at the spa, and even a Drag Race on skis that has become pure legend. Cozy ski huts, warm mulled wine or romantic horse-drawn carriage rides guarantee you a true winter flair and the perfect blend of beautiful surroundings, world-class entertainment, and stylish accommodation.
Kicking off the last week of January since 2005, the Arosa Gay Ski Week is seven days of alpine fun in the sun and snow of the Swiss Alps.
Expect a mix of sun and snow during your trip. Because at Arosa Gay Ski Week, the cold never dims the warmth — it just makes it sparkle brighter.

Alegra in Arosa!
Arosa has over 300 days of sunshine a year, so it won’t always be cold.
What started back in 2005 as a small gathering in a stylish hotel has grown into one of Europe’s biggest queer winter celebrations, welcoming nearly a thousand participants from across the world last year.
“Twenty-one years celebrating our community in one of Switzerland’s most stunning alpine settings,” says Alex Herkommer, Director of Arosa Gay Ski Week.
The Arosa Gay Ski Week promises a perfect blend of real winter flair, best entertainment and quality accommodation. It may be cool outside, so bring a warm coat or jacket…but it will likely be warm inside, so you won’t need that heavy alpine sweater your dying to bring. “Some people come alone and leave with lifelong friends,” Alex smiles.
Its location in Eastern Switzerland is more than worth the trip, as the resort is hands down the most gay-friendly ski resort in the world. The fact that you’re partying above the tree line with the Weisshorn in the background only adds to the awesomeness.
Daily events, après ski and social skiing and boarding are on the agenda, and there is plenty of hot action on and off the slopes.
We have also fancy stores to shop for that trendy coat or top if you forget anything. We have snow on the streets at all times
EUROPE'S FAVORITE LGBTQ+ SKI WEEK
Ready for an unforgettable winter holiday?
What we don’t have, however, is a good store where you can buy underwear or socks!
Please don’t forget:
- your personal skiing/snowboarding gear (skis, boots, jacket, pants, gloves, goggles, sunglasses, hat, helmet, etc)
- good winter boots for walking around town with a lug sole, so you don’t slip.
