ABOUT ROCHESTER GAY MEN’S CHORUS (RGMC): The Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus came to life in November of 1982 when five friends – David Knoll, Bob Olsowski, Kent Peterson, Ken Setera, and Nicholas Williams – decided to pursue a dream. RPO Assistant Conductor Jherrard Hardeman will be at the podium.
A co-production of the RPO and Trillium Health with financial support from the office of New York State Senator Jeremy A.
Cooney, this one-of-a-kind program puts the spotlight on both the drag-performance and symphonic talents of Thorgy Thor, a classically trained violinist who has performed to acclaim with orchestras including the Boston Symphony,
Cincinnati Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and Oregon Symphony.
“Thorgy Thor is coming to Rochester!” proclaimed Senator Cooney, who explained that he helped secure $30,000 for Trillium Health to support their Pride Week initiatives and help bring Thorgy Thor to Rochester.
Added Cooney, “I proudly delivered funds to help Trillium Health and RPO bring this iconic diva to our city, and there’s no better time for this announcement to come than at the kickoff of Rochester Pride Week.
