It’s time to dance your heart out and soak up the summer sunshine — July’s Big Gay Picnic is bringing the moves, music, and magic to the park with two amazing partners: the San Diego Gay Rodeo Chapter (SDGRC) and the fabulous dancing crews from the SD Coasters and Finest City Squares!

Whether you're groovin’ to pop beats or adding a little country twang to your two-step, this picnic is all about community, connection, and queers in motion.

Look out for the red “On Air” sign, knock on the door, and enter a space dedicated to Japanese whiskey and sophistication. Let’s line up, let loose, and make this summer sizzle. This is a fantastic way to be a part of the fun and an inclusive community. If you aren’t soaking up enough ocean on the sands of Pacific Beach, check out these bars to keep the coastal vibes going.

Multiple Shifts:

Shift 1 – 10am-12:45m (16 slots)

Shift 2 – 12:45pm-3:30pm (16 Slots)

Location: Balboa Park, Near 3101 Balboa Drive, San Diego, CA 92103 – Corner of Balboa Drive & Quince Drive

Parking: Parking is limited at the park, so it is all street parking.

Expect dancing (yes, there’ll be lessons!), music, games, and all the feel-good picnic energy you love — plus some rodeo charm and maybe a sparkle or two.

? Embracing its roots in Chinese medicine, this hidden haven in Convoy transports seekers into an enclave of hanging beads, golden hues, and cocktails gently puffing smoke.

? If cocktails aren’t on your night’s itinerary, try some of Part Time Lover‘s coffee and pastries before you melt into the velvet seating; cool, orange lighting; and sweet music. It’s a secret we’re all just dying not to keep—so we won’t.
